2004 OWC Forum Luncheon Speaker: Lee Nutter, Ph.D
Lee Nutter, Ph.D. is a national
consultant, trainer and conference presenter who has presented in seventeen
states to professionals and other individuals involved in social services,
mental health, medicine, law enforcement, judiciary, ministry, academia and
military. His dissertation topic at Case Western Reserve University was “The
effects of substance abuse and violence in the family of origin on dating
experiences of college students”. His curriculum on “ Intervening in substance
abusing and violent families” is currently used by the State of Arizona to train
all new Children Services Social Workers. He has research, clinical and academic
experience related to family trauma and its effects on intimacy and the
intergenerational transmission of violence, substance abuse and other
addictive/compulsive behaviors. Dr. Nutter has recently opened Spirit Fire,
Inc., The Helping and Healing Center, a retreat center whose purpose is to aid
individuals, families and organizations to grow spiritually and to function in
peaceful, nonviolent ways. He has a dynamic, uplifting presentation style that
often includes his sharing of his personal recovery from many of the problems
and issues that he seeks to educate others about.
