Luncheon Speaker: Harvey Alston

This year’s luncheon address will feature the return of Harvey Alston to the Ohio Welfare Conference podium. Harvey regaled our Forum in the past and has inspired and entertained audiences throughout Ohio and the nation on the subject of being the best you can be. Mr. Alston has held a variety of positions throughout his career. He was a high school football coach, a counselor at Central State University, and a manager with the Wendy’s Corporation, to name a few. His speaking career has taken him throughout the United States, and he has addressed more than 1,000 audiences – both adult and student groups. Harvey has received numerous awards including one from the Ohio House of Representatives and another from the Boy scouts of America. He has produced instructive and inspiring audio cassette programs and is the author of the best selling book bearing the same title as his luncheon address: BE THE BEST.

ODHS Support for the 109th Annual Forum

As has been the case in each of the last two year’s, the Ohio Department of Human Services has contracted with the Ohio Welfare Conference to provide training to both ODHS staff and staff from county DHS’s. We are therefore happy to announce that the first 350 registrations received from DHS staff will be complimentary and not incur the $85 registration fee! Just complete the enclosed registration form and forward to First Vice-President Brenda Newsom at the address indicated. Any questions regarding the current availability of the complimentary registrations can be directed to Brenda at (614) 752-4540.

The Board of Trustees of the Ohio Welfare Conference sincerely appreciates this support from the Ohio Department of Human Services.
